Does Vink store my App Store Connect API key?
No. Your API key is stored only in your iPhone's Keychain. Vink calls App Store Connect directly from your device, so the key is never sent to our servers and never leaves your phone.
Does Vink keep checking for new reviews when the app is closed?
Not when the app is fully force-quit. Vink calls App Store Connect from your phone — not from our servers — because your API key never leaves the device. That means the scheduled checks can only run while iOS lets the app wake in the background. In practice: leave Vink in your recent apps and the three daily checks fire and notify you. Force-quit it and checks pause until you open the app again. This is the tradeoff for keeping your key on-device.
Does Vink work with Google Play or Android?
Not yet. Vink is iOS-only and focuses on the Apple App Store. Multi-platform support is on the roadmap but not in version 1.
What languages does the AI support?
The AI matches whichever language the reviewer wrote in. It's been used for English, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Russian, among others. Every non-English review is auto-translated to English on-device so you always know what's being said.
What permissions does Vink need on App Store Connect?
Vink only needs the Customer Success role on your App Store Connect API key. That's the minimum required to read reviews and post developer responses. The role can't touch your apps, builds, finances, or team.
Is Vink for teams?
Vink is built for solo indie developers and small founders. It doesn't have approval workflows, team accounts, or shared inboxes — that's intentional. If you ship apps yourself, it's for you.
Where does the AI draft come from?
Drafts are generated by OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini. Review text and your optional hint are forwarded to OpenAI through Vink's backend, the response comes back, and nothing is stored. See the Privacy Policy for the full data flow.
Does Vink work offline?
Reading already-fetched reviews and viewing existing drafts works offline. Generating a new draft, posting a reply, and pulling new reviews require an internet connection.
